INFO:
Phenomena Friday in my Middle School STEM classroom! ❄️ We explored how snowflakes form by growing our own Borax crystals. 🌟 The Science: Snowflakes form when water vapor freezes onto tiny particles in the atmosphere, creating intricate crystal structures. Similarly, Borax crystals grow as the dissolved borax in hot water cools and recrystallizes, mimicking how snowflakes form in nature. How to make the Borax Crystals: 1. Fill a cup with very hot water. 2. Add Borax (about 3 tablespoons per cup of water) and stir until dissolved. 3. Suspend a pipe cleaner shaped like a snowflake into the solution using a popsicle stick or pencil. 4. Let it sit overnight, and watch the crystals grow!
